3M™ Adhesion Promoter K520UV is a liquid promoter used to improve the adhesion of 3M™ Acrylic Foam and Acrylic Plus Tapes to Polyolefin-based substrates such as thermoplastic olefins (TPO), Polypropylene (PP), and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber.
Scientific Assistance
Even the best products can use a bit of assistance on occasion, and that’s the idea behind 3M™ Adhesion Promoter K520UV. It’s designed to help 3M™ Acrylic Foam and Acrylic Plus Tapes adhere to substrates which are typically difficult to form an adhesive bond against. This includes surfaces to Polyolefin-based substrates such as thermoplastic olefins (TPO), Polypropylene (PP) and EPDM rubber. This acetone solvent dries fast to maximize work time and eliminate downtime. It contains a fluorescent dye that makes it easily visible once applied, and helps technicians to quickly verify that coverage is complete and consistent for a reliable bond. Since formulations and surface energies vary for these materials, each application should be verified through testing.
