Anatomy of a Hookit Disc
The 3M Hookit Microfinishing Film Roll 268L feature aluminum oxide mineral bonded to a durable polyester film backing, producing a fast cut-rate and uniform finish on plastic, paint, metals, e-coat and wood. 268L is commonly used for defect repair and leveling, orbital sanding, AEOM finishing and repair and prepping metal prior to paint.
3M manufactured this product with aluminum oxide, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly.
Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking.
