Product Description

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Nitrile High Performance Rubber and Gasket Adhesive 847 is a premium quality, multi-purpose, versatile, solvent-based adhesive that develops strong flexible bonds, most commonly used for rubber and gaskets. This adhesive bonds neoprene, reclaimed, nitrile rubber (BUNA), SBR and butyl rubbers to metal, wood and numerous plastics, providing excellent heat and water resistance. 3M adhesives are available as liquids, pastes, tapes, films, and shaped solids. Each has characteristics to be considered for application effectiveness and efficiency.

Rubber and Gasket Adhesive Features

  • Bonds very rapidly to a wide variety of substrates, including many plastics and rubbers, gasket materials and leather
  • Has exceptional resistance to most fuels and oil
  • Heat and solvent reactive
  • Optional heat cure increases bond strength

Recommended Applications

  • Gasket bonding
  • Bonding fuel lines, fuel tanks and panels exposed to oil
  • Attaching rubber to various substrates (should not be applied to EPDM or TPO)
  • Patching rubber
  • Leather repair
