Fiberglass Matting Adhesive 08277
- A high performance low viscosity two component urethane adhesive
- Adhesive is used to saturate fiberglass cloth when preparing backup patches
- Secondary use includes filling cracks, channels and areas restricting the application of an adhesive bead
- Use with 3M Performance Manual Applicator, PN 08284 and 3M Static Mixing Nozzle, PN 08193
Due to its excellent absorption into fiberglass mat or cloth, 3M Fiberglass Matting Adhesive is used to saturate fiberglass cloth and/or mat when creating backup patches for Sheet Molded Compound (SMC) and Fiber Reinforced Polyester (FRP). Examples of FRP include Fiberglass and Metton panels. If bonding reinforcement patches to flexible plastics or Metton use 3M Polyolefin Adhesion Promoter, part number 05907 before applying the patch. Typical Performance PropertiesThe following times have been determined with ambient air temperature and substrate temperature at 73°F (23°C) and are considered typical values. The fiberglass matting adhesive has a mix nozzle dwell time of 9.5 minutes, work time of 10 minutes, sanding time of 45 minutes and cure time of 45 minutes.
