The 3M Cut-Off Wheel 675BM is designed for trimming carbide tool blanks to length. This fast- and free-cutting wheel is available in a diamond grade of 100 and should be run with a water based coolant. The use of coolant is critical for it removes heat away from the workpiece and wheel, adds lubricity reducing grinding friction and helps to clear away swarf.
Wheel Design
The abrasive surface of the 3M Cut-Off Wheel 675BM is the periphery, where it is coated with diamond to a depth of .25 inches. This wheel generally cuts radially through the workpiece.
