Cleaning Welds, Removing Rust and Paint: The extra coarse (XCS) silicon carbide mineral and tough, dense web on the Scotch-Brite Clean and Strip Rim Wheel effectively removes scale, rust, surface contaminants, paints and coatings from a variety of substrates. The dense, open-web and sharp mineral produce a wheel that runs smoothly and resists loading, even when removing soft coatings. 3M intersperse silicon carbide mineral on non-woven nylon fibers and combine them using resin. Layering the material means you get a wheel that is stronger, tougher and more durable than individual discs. Rim Wheels: 3M offers a variety of rim wheels for hard cleaning and removal of rust, paint and other coatings.
