Like all pads, the Standard Abrasives Resin Fiber Holder Pad is a hard-face pad. In other words, it is flat and even without texture. The smooth face of the holder pad prevents it from causing bumps or extrusions.
Different densities signal varying levels of flexibility of the holder pad. Soft density holder pads are more pliable and responsive, so they’re a good fit for finer grade abrasives performing finishing and contouring. This medium grade pad is good for discs that do general-purpose work. Firm density holder pads are more rigid to support coarser abrasives that perform heavy stock removal.
