3M UV Activated Films and Tapes combines the benefits of three different bonding technologies into one powerful adhesive. They provide stronger bonds than standard tapes; they’re easier to apply than liquid adhesives; and they activate with light, unlike heat-activated films. Prior to UV activation, these films and tapes are stable and tacky at room temperature and can be easily converted into precision die-cut parts. Once activated, bond strength develops at room temperature, achieving green strength within an hour and semi-structural bond strength within 24 hours. These properties make them an ideal choice for bonding small components where high temperatures and pressures are a concern.
