Economical, Reliable, High Temperature Powder Coat Masking
With temperatures rising in powder coat paint operations, customers require a masking tape that can take the heat. Specifically designed for higher temp powder coat paint applications, 3M™ Polyimide Tape 8998 features a 2.0 mil thick polyimide backing with silicone adhesive. It is ideal for use in high temperature applications up to 500°F/260°C. Its dark amber color ensures easy identification and alignment. The high dimensional and exceptional tensile strength of this polyimide tape allows it to break through cured paint without silvering or tearing.
